“Know the Situation”
To be postured for success in any game or for any given play, you have to “know the situation”. What inning is it? How many outs? What’s the count? Who is this hitter? Who is on deck?
There are plenty of questions to ask to evaluate what your response needs to be in a given situation. A good coach, through instruction and practice prepares his players for a particular situation. Successful players prepare physically and mentally. An individual or team’s preparation will be exposed in the cross-hairs of opportunity. What a great parallel to life. In life, we are constantly facing a variety of situations that test our resolve, our character, our preparation, our patience, etc. For those of us who follow Christ, we have not just a coach for life, but a savior, Lord and friend. By following Christ and submitting to his loving guidance and instruction from his word, we have all we need for any situation life may throw at us.
2 Timothy 3:16: “All Scripture is God-breathed and us useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness so that the man of God will be thoroughly equipped for every good work”.
